Vision or Medical Insurance, what's the difference?
VISION PLANS are administered by 3rd party insurance carriers. These plans are not directly associated with your medical coverage.
Most Vision plans pay toward*:
A refraction (eyeglass prescription)
Eyeglass or Contact Lens discounts
MEDICAL PLANS are administered through major medical providers. Blue Cross/ Blue Shield, Medicare/ Medicaid, UPMC, and Health America are examples of Medical Insurance carriers. These plans will provide coverage for services pertaining to the health of your eye.
